Help Us
Securing the Future of Allithwaite Bowling Club – We Need Your Help!
For over 30 years, Allithwaite Bowling Club has been at the heart of our village—bringing people together through sport, friendship, and community spirit. But now, we face a challenge that could put our future at risk.
Our beloved bowling green needs urgent care. The equipment we rely on is more than 30 years old—heavy, outdated, and increasingly difficult for our older volunteers to use. Without modern, lightweight machinery, we may no longer be able to maintain the green ourselves.
A Community Club Under Pressure
Thanks to membership fees, fundraising events, and a weekly Post Office session in our clubhouse, we’ve stayed self-sufficient for decades. But the past few years have hit us hard—COVID-19 closures, a full season lost due to green damage, and costly reinstatement work have drained our finances.
Why This Matters
Bowling at Allithwaite is about more than just sport. It:
Encourages physical and mental well-being
Reduces isolation, especially for older members
Fosters friendships and social connection
Welcomes players of all ages and abilities
To keep our green playable and our club thriving, we urgently need to invest in new maintenance equipment.
Our Funding Campaign – And How You Can Help
We’re thrilled to announce that Sport England has offered us a conditional grant of £5,816—half the funds we need. But to unlock this support, we must raise the other half—another £5,816—through a Crowdfunder campaign.
Your Support Will Help Us:
Involve more members in green maintenance
Keep the club affordable and accessible
Boost community wellbeing and reduce loneliness
Secure the future of this valuable local hub
Every donation makes a difference—no matter the size.
Donate now via our Crowdfunder page
Let’s work together to protect this much-loved community space for future generations.
